Andes Adventure Visuals (AAV) is a photography expedition company founded by Matt Stacy, a professional photographer whose deep connection to the Andes shaped an entirely new approach to adventure photography. AAV takes photographers and adventurers beyond the crowded viewpoints and into terrain where the light, the landscape, and the moment come together in ways most people never get to experience.
Challenge
The photography expedition space is filled with brands that lean on the same visual clichés: generic mountain silhouettes, predictable adventure tropes, and identities that blur together the moment you scroll past them. Matt's vision was clear — a brand that felt off the beaten track, rooted in real mountain culture and serious photography rather than polished tourism marketing. The identity had to speak to photographers who value effort, authenticity, and technical skill over mainstream appeal.
Solution
Osea's strategic branding process began with an in-depth exploration of Matt Stacy's photography philosophy and the competitive landscape of adventure photography companies. The team developed multiple logo directions, testing each iteration with Matt's audience — photographers, mountaineers, and industry professionals. Over three to four focused rounds of refinement, AAV received comprehensive brand guidelines covering logo usage, color system, typography, digital applications, social media templates, merchandise, and physical collaterals.
Logo Design
The logo system is built around a custom mountain icon paired with bold typography set in Space Grotesk. A four-pointed mark functions as both compass rose and guiding star — speaking equally to the explorer and the photographer. Camera viewfinder brackets frame several variations, pulling directly from the act of composing a shot through a lens. Expedition Orange accents cut through darker tones with purpose, functioning the way a trail marker does on a mountain path. The AAV monogram condenses the full identity into angular peaks that mirror the primary mark's silhouette.

Color Palette
The palette reflects the Andes at the moments photographers chase most — early light breaking over dark ridgelines, warm sun hitting cold stone. Andes Midnight (#04303D) anchors the system with depth and authority. Expedition Orange (#FF5B04) provides signature energy, directional and bold. Alpine Cream (#F0EDE8) replaces pure white with the warmth of weathered trail paper. Charcoal Black grounds the system with sophistication.

Typography
Two typefaces define AAV's voice. Jost, the primary font, was chosen for its geometric precision and quiet confidence — used across headlines and body text. Space Grotesk is reserved for geographic coordinates, elevation markers, and technical data. Its monospaced sensibility evokes the instruments a navigator relies on in the field.

Instagram Layouts
A cohesive social media system ensures strong visual consistency across all content formats. The templates apply the brand's color palette, typography, and signature viewfinder framing to expedition announcements, workshop highlights, and behind-the-scenes field photography. Each layout lets the photography lead while brand elements provide quiet, consistent structure in the background.

Brand Collaterals
Strategic physical touchpoints extend the brand from screen to summit. Business cards and stationery carry the full logo system with Expedition Orange accents providing directional energy on paper. The five-panel cap features the compact AAV monogram — legible under a headlamp or through a telephoto lens — while the sun hoodie turns everyday expedition wear into a natural brand touchpoint. The website translates the entire visual system into an immersive experience, guiding visitors through AAV's services with the same intentional composition Matt brings to every shoot.
